Artist Statement

The game of life hangs precariously in contrast and balance and the ‘seed of life’ (sometimes known as the Flower of Life) within the ‘vectar equilibrium’ that lays beneath it all!

The illusion is that it is seperate to humanity, that we are disconnected or displaced! In reality both conceptually and scientifically we are very much connected to all through the tension of the magnetic forces, whether when referring to this particular artwork for the ‘Foreigner Everywhere’ Exhibition @ Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery or within the greater universe. My question is always the same….what happens when illusion and reality collapse into one? ‘Who Am I’ in this story?

Artist Bio:
Kelli Sharp is an installation artist exploring the collapsing of binaries at their mid-point. Using this concept, her practice in earlier days were provocative post-feminist discussions within the realm of the human senses and sexuality.

Today, whilst still working towards collapsing binaries, her practice has moved into more cross-cultural pollination conversations and experiences of sociopolitical and sustainability matters.

Experience: Installation art practices, management history in private enterprise/corporate Australia, and a sometimes Festival Director.
