This work was in honour of the Anđelić Family who survived the War with always a good healthy dose of Black Humour! One day walking along the beachside path, with their eldest son Ranko, back to their holiday home where they spent some years hiding out during the war, I noted pot holes in the render of their outside walls and asked ‘what are those holes from?’ Ranko replied ‘When they shot at us during the war while we were inside!’ then giggled.
At that moment we both looked down at the ground and saw this stencil on the ground on the beach pathway and we both said almost at the same time ’Look, Dead Man Walking’ and then we both laughed.
In that moment I learned, from the Anđelić family how important humour is in the most darkest moments. Somehow, I understood.
