Description: Djeran the season of adulthood occurred during April and May when the hotter weather started to cool. This season was known as the time of the year when marriages and courtship ceremonies took place. During this time bulbs (Yanjidi, an edible root of a species of flag - Typha angustifolia) and seeds were gathered, and freshwater fishing took place in groups around estuaries, inland lakes, weirs etc. Throughout this time mia-mias (houses or shelters) were being repaired in readiness for the wintery ahead.
