Artist Statement

My mothers parents met at Moore River Native Settlement.  They were children of the Stolen Generation.

My Grandmother was taken from her family in the central Desert near the South Australian boarder, my Grandfather was taken from Sandstone, near Mt Magnet,  mid Western Australia; Yamatji country.

My mother met my father as an adult having been sent to Carolup near Katanning.

My father was a hard working Nyungar man from York in Western Australia. He kept his family together, was a generous man and well respected in the district.

I was able to trace my mothers father and meet him in Midland, after discovering a mutual relative in Kalgoorlie.

My Grandfather was 87years old when I met him for the first time. My mother never seemed able to speak of her parents.
