An Installation Artist working mostly with ephemeral works in the realm of cross cultural pollinations, geopolitics & binaries, collapsing and reforming those binaries often through electronic media.

‘ I am always interested in the space that lives between the binaries – the middle ground if you like! It seems to be the only place of tension that is able to hold peace.

Of course eventually all binaries collapse into new binaries it is inevitable! Yet I’m hopeful that at some point peace can be more than just a fleeting moment.’ says Kelli

~ ‘As humanity moves forward in a constant states of duality where one binary collapses and another is formed instantaneously we find ourselves in familiar repetitive territory! Fast forward Rinse and Repeat seems no longer an option if humanity is to not only to survive but to move BEYOND SURVIVAL. The current tumulturous political temperature world wide is palpable, perhaps even visceral for us all.

Contemplation on the mountain top becomes redundant regardless of one’s individual or collective consciousness. Instead we find ourselves at planetary level in a place of needing to embrace the dark and find the light within that dark!

I AM the grain of sand and I AM the desert! Reflection meets authentic action where we just have to get out of our own way! From the Tree of Knowledge we evolve collectively into the Tree of Life!’

‘We say that digital communication made the world smaller meaning that we are interconnected through our avatars in the virtual world. What the outbreak of the COVID-19 clearly showed is that we are not only connected through our corpreal bodies we are just as connected in our digital ones too.’says Park Byoung-Uk

ARTIST STATEMENT Human connections are layered and as complex as our interaction with nature! Hopefully from this we learn and grow with each experience. The art of tea making, whether in solitude or partaking with another, truly represents the art life scenario within and of itself. A Birds Eye View of all of these shared moments whether strangers, friend or foe it has the power to connect even the most unexpected. With each sip, slurp, slop and sometimes sleuth around discussion, conversation, negotiation and babble we find shared secrets of joy and darkness. Either way it is the humble pot of tea that is our silent partner in the room that allows us to connect. Within us, hopefully in this conscious biological organ, mother nature’s most amazing creation we can find a place of peace within and with all “other”.
